Restoration Programs and Partners
Overview
Practices include wetland and grassland restoration, establishment of buffer strips
in riparian areas, improved management of shallow lakes and wild rice lakes, fisheries
habitat improvement on recreational lakes, prescribed burning to maintain desired
successional stages of vegetation, brush shearing to maintain open edges and wildlife
travel lanes. Other accepted forested and land management practices are being used
to improve biodiversity and enhance fish and wildlife utilization of established
corridors.
